PELIE Technology Fellows Program: ISTE 2012
Source: PELIE Buzz
PELIE is offering twenty fellowships to attend the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) 2012 conference, taking place on June 24-27 in San Diego, CA. Attending in pairs, each chosen team of two will receive conference registration for both members, plus $700 per team for expenses. By providing these fellowships, PELIE’s aim is to impact the field by offering more Jewish educators the opportunity to learn how the use of technology can enhance their work; fellows will develop communities of practice with like-minded Jewish and non-Jewish educators; and the field of part-time Jewish education will benefit from the fellows’ experiences.
All individuals working in part-time Jewish education settings are encouraged to apply. PELIE defines Jewish education broadly to include synagogue schools, community programs, JCC engagement initiatives for children, youth groups, etc.
Selected PELIE Technology Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in keynote presentations, “bring your own laptop” sessions, poster sessions, the global gallery, demonstrations, birds of a feather affinity group meetings (including one specifically designed for Jewish educators) and more! Plus, as registrants of the ISTE conference, fellows gain one year of ISTE membership. As ISTE members, fellows will be provided with publications; access to ISTE member communities, social networks and special interest groups; and discounts on books and webinars.
Applications must be submitted on or before March 11, 2012. Award recipients will be notified by the end of March.
