iJed Day School Conference – Innovation in Jewish Education
Source: IJED 2014 Conference
We invite you to participate in an exciting conference that will convene more than 400 Jewish day school leaders (lay and professional) from across North America and around the world. The Schechter Day School Network (SDSN) and day schools affiliated with the Yeshiva University Institute for University-School Partnership (YUSP) will convene iJED 2014, the first Jewish day school conference of its kind on March 2-4, 2014 at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, NY. With the guidance and coaching of Heidi Hayes Jacob and the Curriculum21 team, iJED 2014 will be an authentic 21st century learning experience, modeling best practices in teaching and learning.
Guided by the belief that professional development must be ongoing, and not a standalone experience, the conference learning will begin before and extend after the face-to-face convening. Utilizing diverse and innovative instructional strategies and methodologies, conference learners will have a choice of three creative and engaging learning labs:
- 21st Century Learning
- Financial Sustainability and Affordability
- Supporting Diverse Learners
Ready to flip out?
We are flipping the learning and sharing content before the conference. iJED learners are active and will be asked to prepare for the conference by bringing the right team members along with real work and materials.
Get ready to roll up your sleeves, be pushed to think, create, design, network, share, strategize. You will return from iJED 2014 inspired, motivated, enriched, better connected and with concrete plans to implement and strategies to share with your team back at school.
Programming
Sunday begins with a cutting-edge professional development program specifically designed for local teachers. The day ends with a surprise activity that will bring us all together to enjoy each other and have fun.
On Monday and Tuesday, iJED 2014 is excited and honored to feature two renowned guest presenters: Rabbi Jonathan Sacks and Dr. Tal Ben Shahar to share their wisdom and inspire innovation and greatness within us all.
In addition to intensive time spent daily in the learning labs, everyone interested in presenting at the conference will have the space and time to do just that. iJED 2014 will be hosting a two-hour JEDcamp open to all individuals eager to share and learn from and with others.
And of course, conference attendees will have the opportunity to visit the iJED Vendor Marketplace to learn about exciting new initiatives and products available to their schools.
See the iJED website for details and registration.
