Between July 7-10, 2008 The International School for Holocaust Studies of Yad Vashem - The Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority will be convening the Sixth International Conference on the Holocaust and Education in Jerusalem on "Teaching the Shoah – Fighting Racism and Prejudice".

Among the scheduled lecturers: Professor Yehuda Bauer, Professor Omer Bartov, Professor Bodo von Borries and renowned novelist Aharon Appelfeld.

Among the topics to be discussed:

  • Teaching the Holocaust to Non-Traditional Audiences: Results and Applications  
  • Racism and Anti-Semitism in the 19th and 20th Centuries – the Prelude to Destruction
  • Teaching the Holocaust in a Multi-Cultural Society – Combating the Phenomena of Racism and Prejudice in the Classroom
  • Building a Better World – The Legacy of the Survivors and Celebrating Israel in its 60th Year.
