This past week, The DigitalJLearning Network partnered with ELI Talks to present a Google Hangout on Air with Rabbi Yisroel Boruch Sufrin on the topic Jewish Values and Blended Learning: A Surprising Duo. Rabbi Sufrin shared with us some of the educational technologies that he and his colleagues at the Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy in Beverly Hills, CA have been successfully using in both general and Judaic studies classrooms. Rabbi Sufrin then led an exploration of various Jewish texts from the Torah to the Zohar and used these texts to support using blended learning in Judaic Studies.

The video itself is embedded on the site for you to watch. Additionally, through speaking with many educators in the Network, we know that educators and administrators within a school will sometimes get together to watch one of our videos and use it to inform a professional development session. With our last Google Hangout on Air with Tikvah Weiner we tried a new format, by developing and including professional development guides to complement asynchronous video sessions. This was a hit last time, so we are once again providing a guide which offers framing and guided conversation prompts to use before, during, and after watching the video as a group to deepen the learning. You can use the guide "as is" or or make a Google Drive copy of it and customize it for your audience.
