The Center for Educational Technology recently launched a beta version of a Hebrew Digital Library. The library is presently made up of tens of nonfiction books, monographs, encyclopedias and lexicons dealing with the Land of Israel, its geography, history, culture, archeology, nature and society. Many current textbooks are also included on the website.

The Kotar Digital Library is part of an ambitious new project undertaken by CET and most of Israel's important nonfiction publishers (Magnes, Yad Ben Zvi, Am Oved, Ministry of Defense, Keter, Kinneret Zmora Bitan, etc.) to make Israel's important nonfiction works available online to the public. The available titles are relatively recent, published during the last few decades, and retrievable through one common search engine.

The Kotar Library also provides numerous data processing tools to enable the user to emphasize, save, quote, and export library material in order to aid in knowledge creation.

In the future, the library plans to:

• add many new titles
• expand its scope to other content areas
• add additional data processing tools
• and add social-community tools to enable sharing information and knowledge with communities of interest.
