New York’s Holocaust Curriculum was developed by the Museum of Jewish Heritage—A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, with the support of the New York City Department of Education.
This curriculum incorporates best classroom practices, emphasizing instructional outcomes and integrating primary sources for artifact-based learning from the Museum’s collection. The curriculum’s standards are aligned to the Common Core, as well as the New York City Scope and Sequence for Social Studies and NYS Next Generation Learning Standards..
This curriculum is designed to be implemented at a variety of grade levels, across subject areas. In each lesson, it provides key content, primary sources related to the content, and student activities.
The Museum of Jewish Heritage will be holding an onsite introductory session for teachers at the museum on Friday, March 15, 2019, 9 am – 2:30 pm.
