Leadership in the COVID-19 Wilderness - A Series for Jewish Early Childhood Leaders

CASJE will present findings during a webinar series for Jewish Early Childhood Leaders, "Leadership in the COVID-19 Wilderness". This project is a joint initiative of The Paradigm Project, the Jewish Early Childhood Collaborative, The Jewish Education Project, The Jewish Community Federation & Endowment Fund, The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, and JECELI.
Jewish early childhood education (ECE) is at a critical inflection point. New initiatives and partnerships point to the promise of building a strong field. At the same time, the current crisis uniquely challenges Jewish ECE and raises questions about its future.
This webinar (on June 29, 2020), offers an exclusive preview of the CASJE ECE study funded by Crown Family Philanthropies. The study, led by Dr. Tamara Halle of Child Trends and Dr. Mark Rosen of Brandeis University, examined Jewish ECE as a lever for family engagement. Using data generated through interviews, case studies and a parent survey in three U.S. communities, this study points to the promise of Jewish ECE and opportunities for improvements.
The session on June 29 from 3:30 pm - 5:30pm EDT will highlight key findings with implications for Jewish ECE practice and policy in this environment. After the presentation breakout groups with members of the research team will provide an opportunity for Q&A and deeper discussion about how these data can inform our thinking about what comes next for Jewish ECE and what future research is needed to further strengthen the field.
