The Darim Educator Fellows is an intensive semester of hands-on professional development. This program is designed for educators in North American congregational/complementary learning settings who are already using new media in their work and who would like to take their practice to the next level.

Darim is looking to mentor a small group of up to 3 individuals who work in congregational/complementary Jewish education, who are passionate about their work as Jewish educators and who are willing to take risks to integrate innovative 21st century learning skills, strategies, and technologies into their Jewish learning and teaching experiences. Candidates must also be willing and available to devote 2-4 hours a month to professional learning and additional time toward developing and implementing their project over a 5 month semester.

Up to 3 educators will be selected to work with Darim staff as their mentors. Each Fellow will design and implement his/her personal learning plan for the semester which will include the development of an educational project. As part of the program, Darim Fellows will experiment with and integrate educational technologies in their work, reflect on the processes and outcomes for student learning, and share best practices.

Darim will support Fellows through one-on-one coaching, facilitated discussions, learning activities including guest experts and exposure to successful models in Jewish and non-Jewish educational settings. Darim Fellows will also participate in the broader Darim Online Learning Network for Educators.

The Spring semester runs from February to June, 2010.

Applications for the Spring 2010 Semester of the Darim Educators Fellows program can be found here and are due Friday, December 4, 2009. Fellows will be announced mid-December.
