The Steiner Summer Internship Program offers college students a tuition-free, seven-week immersion in Yiddish culture. The goal of the program is to provide a new generation with Yiddish language literacy; substantive knowledge of the history, literature and culture of Jews in central and Eastern Europe and beyond; and practical models for preservation, research, translation, and artistic expression.
The National Yiddish Book Center's Steiner Summer Program offers 18 qualified full-time college students an intensive educational experience in Yiddish language, literature, culture and history. Students receive six undergraduate credits through the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Classes and other related activities are held at the National Yiddish Book Center headquarters in Amherst.
The Steiner Internship Program runs from June 6 to July 23, 2010.
Application Deadline: February 1, 2010
