The Jerusalem Challenge builds bridges between young Jewish adults who are touring Israel and the kaleidoscope of Jewish communities that make up the modern city.  Through a wide range of engaging and pluralistic Jewish experiences, tourists are transformed into participants in the Jewish adventure that energizes Israel’s capital city every day.

Rooted in the diversity of Jerusalem’s Jewish community, the Jerusalem Challenge helps young people “plug into” meaningful experiences such as Shabbat and holiday celebrations; Jewish learning opportunities; service programs involved in Tikun Olam (repairing the world); and face-to-face dialogue with their Israeli peers.

The goal of the Jerusalem Challenge is to help young Jewish adults to form a personal connection with Jerusalem – and to create a lasting relationship that is good as gold!

Among the activities planned by the Jerusalem Challenge for the next few weeks are:
  • Make Your Own Shabbat, Germany Colony and Baka, July 9-10th - Community.  Diversity.  Introspection - Join us for a warm Shabbat dinner under the stars with Israeli students and professionals, new and old residents, and soldiers.
  • Green Jerusalem:  Volunteering and Jewish Service Learning July 12th - Join us at one of the urban nature sites and make a difference!
  • Dialog on Israel and Jewish Issues, Night Tours of the city, Monday, July 19th - Join us on Tisha B'av evening for discussions on the Jewish people today, our mutual responsibilities, and connections to each other.
