Spring is considered by many as the best time to visit Israel, and for good reason: hundreds of millions of birds pass through that tiny little strip of a country in the course of the great migration -- offering a most unique experience for birding aficionados and amateurs alike. To coincide with the best of Israel’s spring migration that occurs from mid-March to mid-May, when the variety of species and sheer numbers of birds are exceptional, Jewish National Fund is offering its first-ever Bird Watching and Nature Photography Mission.

The Jewish National Fund has dedicated the largest indoor playground in Israel in Sderot on Purim, 2009. The 21,000 square-foot state of the art rocket-proof Indoor Recreational Center provides Sderot’s youth with a place to have fun, connect with friends, enjoy stimulating classes, and be children, safe from Kassam rockets fired from the Gaza strip.

On March 27-29, 2009 the Jewish National Fund will mark the second annual JNF GoNeutral Shabbat. Synagogues, schools and communities across the USA will be celebrating Shabbat in an eco-friendly way, learning about the connection between Judaism, Israel and the environment. Schools, synagogues and communities who register for the event will receive a JNF GoNeutral Kit with resources to help them plan and experience the event.
