The Shoolman Graduate Shool of Jewish Education at Hebrew College presents a workshop for Jewish educators at day schools and supplementary schools, led by Jen Glaser, the co-director of the Israel Center for Philosophy in Education. This four-day seminar (July 6-9, 2015) will cover many topics from the Philosophy for Children approach to education to inquiry-based learning.

Hidden Sparks is pleased to offer its popular Learning Lenses Course now as a blended course — combining the best of in-person and on-line learning. Learning Lenses, a collaboration between Hidden Sparks and The Churchill School and Center, is Hidden Sparks’ core curriculum, designed for faculty members of day schools and yeshivot. The Brandeis University Teacher Leader Fellowship for Jewish day school teachers is a unique educational opportunity for exceptional educators at Jewish day schools who want to become effective teacher leaders without having to give up classroom teaching. Fellows will join talented and experienced teachers from a variety of school settings in a 13-month course of study (equivalent to the Advanced Graduate Study (AGS) in Teacher Leadership) that includes some elements designed exclusively for teachers in Jewish day schools.

The Hartman Rabbinic Torah Study Seminar is an annual 10-day study program that enriches rabbis of all denominations and nurtures their capacity to inspire their communities, excite them by the Jewish tradition, and motivate them in their quest for meaning. As more congregations experiment with new, dynamic, and engaging Jewish learning opportunities, Shinui: the Network for Innovation in Part-Time Jewish Education is sharing insight and innovative education models to help communities across the country. Earlier this week, Shinui launched a four-part webinar series on various stages of a congregation’s “change process,” designed to help and connect agencies, staff, educators, and other individuals across communities. Each webinar is led by innovators in different communities and focuses on a concrete element of the change process.

Designed to support a school’s long term ability to address the needs of struggling learners, the ICP program provides training in understanding and teaching to diverse learning styles, behavior management, facilitation skills, and mentoring to selected faculty members to be resident Hidden Sparks “Internal Coaches.” Training begins Spring 2015 to prepare Internal Coaches to begin coaching in their schools during the 2015-16 school year.
