MOFET Around the World – MASA – Online Education Portal
Since 2004, The MOFET Institute has been providing an online Hebrew language education portal, MOFET MASA, for the benefit of the Hebrew speaking education community. The portal aims to improve the flow of global and Israeli pedagogical information among the MOFET users, teacher educators, pedagogy instructors, libraries and information centers in teacher colleges, universities and other research and practice institutions.
Searching for the Study of Israel: A Report on the Teaching of Israel on U.S. College Campuses 2008-09
An update of a 2006 report, Searching for the Study of Israel examines the scope of academic courses being taught about Israel on more than 300 leading American college and university campuses and finds that the state of education about Israel has improved since the original study. A comparison of the 246 institutions included in both studies shows a 69% growth in courses that focus specifically on Israel over the three-year period.
Summary Report of the Jewish Education Task Force – Jewish Federation of Greater Portland
The Jewish Education Task Force of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland has released a report based on a year-long study of the educational approaches of communities across North America, to determine what new approaches or models of education delivery might best enhance the existing educational infrastructure of Greater Portland.
Echoes and Reflections : a Multimedia Curriculum on the Holocaust
Echoes and Reflections is a comprehensive 10-part curriculum on the Holocaust that uses visual history testimony from survivors and other witnesses and additional primary source documents, including maps, photographs, timelines, literature excerpts and other materials. Since its launch in July 2005, the program has reached more than 1.5 million students in 4,000 public, private and parochial schools in 43 states around the United States, and in Canada and Israel.
MOFET Institute Educator Teaches Ed Tech at ORT Jewish Education Seminar
Twenty seven South African elementary Jewish day school educators participated in an ORT Jewish Education Seminar at the King David Linksfield Primary School in Johannesburg in mid February. They came to learn how to use modern technology in the teaching of Judaism’s timeless wisdom with practical insights into how they can enhance their lessons. Among the presenters was Dr Elaine Hoter, Head of Information Technology at Talpiot College of Education in Holon, Israel and a member of the MOFET Institute educational team.
