Online Learning in Jewish Day Schools - State of the Field Survey
The AVI CHAI Foundation is pleased to share a baseline report on the state of online and blended learning in Jewish day schools during the 2011/12 school year. AVI CHAI launched an online survey during the 2011/12 school year to gather information about the depth and breadth of online course offerings throughout Jewish day schools in North America. This was the first survey of its kind and it will be repeated periodically to measure the adoption of online learning in day schools.
AlHaTorah.org - Re-envisioning the Way Torah Can Be Studied and Taught
AlHaTorah.org is a one-stop Tanakh study resource, providing the tools, techniques and technology to make Torah come alive in the home, classroom and synagogue. It mines 2,500 years of Biblical interpretation to offer the user a rich, multi-dimensional learning experience. It has begun by providing rich resources for the Book of Shmot.
Project Zug - Israel-Diaspora Digital Hevruta
Project Zug is an innovative initiative employing the ancient Jewish method of “hevruta” with modern technology of distance learning (like Skype), to bring together the two largest Jewish communities of today, Israel and the United States. Our hope is that learning in pairs will reduce the geographical and cultural distance and strengthen the bond between our two cultures.
The Gamification of Location-based Learning - A MOFET Webinar
This free webinar, to be held on February 13, 2013, 7 PM Israel Time, 12 PM EST led by David Lachmish and Shani Ziv will deal with the gamification of location-based learning. During the webinar, we will analyze several gaming structures related to location-based learning, and extract the gamification principles embedded in them.
Google Expands Its Street View Imagery In Israel, Adds Hundreds Of New Cities, Towns & Tourist Attractions
Last April Google released panoramic imagery of sites and streets in Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv-Jaffa via the Street View feature of Google Maps. As part of their ongoing effort to make Google Maps even more comprehensive and accurate, they have published street-level imagery of hundreds more cities, towns, villages, heritage sites and tourist attractions across Israel.
