MOFET International Online Summer Seminar: Technology in Education
In an era in that boasts frequent and varied technological changes and developments, the International Channel's Online Academy at The MOFET Institute is delighted to announce an online summer seminar on the topic of Technological Applications in Education. The seminar will afford exposure to a range of cutting edge applications and their uses in teaching and learning on personal computers, cell phones, iPads, and the Internet.

American Publisher and Israeli Nonprofit Team Up on Groundbreaking Jewish Ed-Tech Incubator
Behrman House, the leading publisher of textbooks and digital learning materials for Jewish schools in North America, announced a partnership with Israel’s Center for Educational Technology (CET) to create jLearningLabs, a new development laboratory that will create digital materials and educational technology for the Jewish community. These materials will be designed for schools, students, teachers, and adults and will help them explore Jewish learning and practice anywhere, anytime, in formats and venues they prefer.

Talmud Studies to be Offered to Girls in Israeli Religious Middle Schools
According to instructions issued by Education Minister Shai Piron, from now on, if half of the parents in state-religious educational middle and high schools request that their daughters study Talmud, they should be allowed to do so. This is the first time that the Education Ministry sets criteria for Talmud studies for girls in state-religious school.

An Elementary School Creates a Community Study Project on an Educational Social Network
During the 2012-13 school year the Izraelia elementary school of Neveh Sha'anan, Haifa, began implementing an online community study project on the 'Nipagesh' secure elementary school social network platform. Their project, 'Creating the Neveh Sha'anan Sequence Trail', entails creating an interactive map of the Neveh Sha'anan neighborhood, for the benefit of anyone visiting it, including historical photographs and personal stories of local residents.

Israeli-Arab Teachers to Integrate into Schools
The Israel Education Ministry is launching a new five-year program to integrate Israeli-Arab teachers into Jewish schools in order to fill a shortage of teachers for core subjects. The program calls for 500 teachers to be fully integrated into schools in five years, teaching science, math, English, and Arabic – subjects with a severe shortage of teachers – according to a report by Channel 2 on Tuesday. The program will cost six million dollars.
