Jewish Engagement from Birth: A Blueprint for Outreach to First-time Parents
This report describes the results of an in-depth study based on visits to ten Jewish communities around the country that have developed successful outreach programs for first-time parents and parents with young children. The report focuses on how these communities find parents who are not connected to the community, and describes the programs they offer to help these parents make connections.
StorahLAB - Summer Training Institute
StorahLAB is Storahtelling’s annual summer training institute for Jewish educators. Participants are trained by expert faculty to apply and integrate the “Storahtelling' technique in their specific educational settings. This year, StorahLAB will be held at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, in collaboration with the Institute for Informal Jewish Education’s BIMA, between July 14 – 20, 2008.
Community Hebrew High Schools: Lessons Learned from Research and Evaluation in the Field
This report contributes to the growing body of knowledge about community Hebrew high schools. The insights included in Making Jewish Education Work: Community Hebrew High Schools are based on key findings from sources originating from JESNA and its Berman Center for Research and Evaluation. In total, information from 26 community Hebrew high school programs is included in this report.
Masa - Israel Journey – The Gateway to Long-Term Israel Programs
MASA was established as a joint project by the Jewish Agency and the Prime Minister’s office under Ariel Sharon in 2004 to enable thousands of Jewish young adults to spend a semester to a year in Israel on over 150 approved programs. Since its inception, MASA has made it possible for 27,000 people to live, work, study and volunteer in Israel.
The Jews of Struggle - The Jewish National Movement in the USSR 1967-1989
Beit Hatefutsoth, has created an educational website in Hebrew, English and Russian telling the heroic story of the Jews of the Soviet Union, and the way in which the Jewish people, throughout the free world, united to campaign for their right to immigrate to Israel, for the freedom to study their own language, culture, and heritage, and for freedom of religious expression.
