Yeshiva University’s Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration will soon be offering a new doctoral degree in Jewish Educational Leadership and Innovation. Slated to begin in the fall, the program will combine virtual learning opportunities with live sessions periodically throughout the year and will replace Azrieli’s existing doctoral degree in Jewish Education and Administration. How do you teach Sefer Yeshayahu (Book of Isaiah)? Fourteen yeshiva high school teachers came together on Yeshiva University’s Wilf Campus in late March to ask each other and themselves that question, under the auspices of YU’s Institute for University-School Partnership. Hailing from a range of schools across the tri-state area, the teachers were united by the subject they all taught (Navi, or The Prophets), their desire to enhance their own approach, and the opportunity to learn from others. Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future (CJF) announced that its “Counterpoint Israel Program,” a month-long service-learning initiative that aims to empower the next generation of Israeli youth via an action-packed, Jewish values-driven summer camp experience, has been retooled to allow counselors to receive graduate level credits for their participation in the program. This new development makes Yeshiva University the world’s first institution to offer an accredited program for Jewish service-learning. More

Yeshiva University recently announced that 20 outstanding tenth graders from the Yeshiva University high schools – 10 from the Yeshiva University High School for Boys/Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy (YUHSB) and 10 from the Samuel H. Wang Yeshiva University High School for Girls (YUHSG) – will be participating in a unique six-week student exchange program with Israeli high schools. Now in its second year, the program aims to immerse the American students in Israeli culture and help them connect with their Israeli counterparts. More

Yeshiva University's Stern College for Women has partnered with the Legacy Heritage Fund to create a special program to train women to become Jewish educators. Beginning this fall, students dedicated to a career in Jewish education will be able to major in Jewish studies at Stern with a concentration in Jewish education. Nine outstanding students pursuing this three-year track have been chosen as Legacy Heritage Scholars and will receive full tuition support in the form of grants and forgivable loans for three years of undergraduate study at Stern College. Graduates who work in the field of Jewish education for three years will have their loans forgiven in full. More
