In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Kristallnacht Pogroms which took place across Germany on November 9-10, 1938, the USHMM has made available on their website an online exhibition describing and showing the Kristallnacht events. The exhibit contains videos of witnesses as well as much documentary material and an online resource kit for memorial activities.

The exhibit tells the story of the Nazi instigated pogroms which spread across Germany damaging or destroying thousands of synagogues, and Jewish businesses and homes in the space of a few hours. Ninety one Jews were killed during the riots and about 30,000 were arrested and transferred to concentration camps.

The exhibit and accompanying resource kit include original documents, photographs and maps as well as downloadable audio and video interviews.

The USSSHM has also provided a number of virtual online tours of the exhibit at the Second Life virtual environment.
