'The Multi-Faceted Kindergarten Teachers' — A Multicultural Perception of Kindergarten Teachers' Role in Light of the 'New Horizon' Reform
This study aimed to expose the perception of kindergarten teachers' role from a multicultural aspect, following the 'New Horizon' reform, i.e. a systemic change which transpired during the last decade in Israeli kindergartens and schools. The study was conducted in a qualitative-interpretive approach and the research population comprised eight female kindergarten teachers, four Bedouin and four Jewish. The data were collected by a semi-structured interview.

The Humanistic Education in a Unique Pre - Service Teacher Education Program for Ethiopian Immigrants: A Foundation for Bridging Gaps
The unique pre - service teacher education programme for Ethiopian immigrants, operated at a Teacher Education College, encompasses two main approaches to value - oriented education, the pluralistic and particularistic approaches. The programme constitutes a challenging ladder which can reduce the educational, social, cultural, instructional and professional gap of Ethiopians in Israel. This paper presents the humanistic theory perception and displays its characteristics in the unique programme. In order to demonstrate the humanistic education principles in the unique programme, the interviews and documents which accompanied the programme were content analysed.

This study explores motives and role perception of primary school male - teachers who are Israeli - born , Ethiopians, immigrants from the former Soviet Union and Bedouins and are teaching mathematics at the south of Israel. The research method is based on qualitative - interpretive approach of case study type. The results illustrate common features of all teachers and at the same time differences between the cultural groups. The contribution of this study to mathematics teacher education resides in understanding motives and role perception of primary school male - teachers. It is recommended building teacher education programs that highlight the valued - social aspect, mathematics content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge.
