One of the most certain features of the COVID-19 period is the unprecedented level of uncertainty in our lives. Uncertainty is all around us, as the current COVID-19 pandemic has heightened uncertainty over our physical and mental health, the economy, relationships, education, employment, finances, etc. The coronavirus outbreak has emphasized that life can change very quickly and very unpredictably. The COVID-19 pandemic is changing – or has already changed – our collective understanding of uncertainty in ways that we could not have imagined a mere few months ago.

Where Have All the Miracles Gone? How Teachers Broach Biblical Miracles in Israeli Jewish National Schools
The current study examines how Israeli teachers’ beliefs and ideologies are expressed in their teaching of Biblical miracles. The article explores how Israeli teachers broach the topic of Biblical miracles, and how their beliefs and ideologies help them navigate a path from the national curriculum to the classroom. The article focuses on three key areas: Initially, I discuss the educational challenges that teachers in Israeli schools confront in teaching miracles. This is followed by a mapping of educational approaches to presenting miracles. The final section analyzes conversations with three teachers about how they present miracles in their classrooms.

Research studies demonstrate the efficacy of the story-sharing experience on children's moral development. This article explores how the triadic relationship between a Jewish children's story, the child, and the parent storyteller can impact the youngster's moral growth. Using examples from two leading projects in Jewish children's stories, the article examines how four key Jewish value concepts can be employed as a means to enhancing children's moral development. In addition, I propose a table of learning that provides adult storytellers with guidelines on how to engage children in moral conversations about relevant issues that surface from the stories.

Engineering Enduring Change: Learning What it Will Take to Transform Day School Israel Education from a Study of BASIS
Launched in September 2008, at the stimulus of the Jim Joseph Foundation, BASIS—the Bay Area Schools Israel Synergy initiative—has been an ambitious initiative to intensify Israel education in eleven Jewish day schools. This report studies the BASIS initiative so as to learn what might lead to enduring change elsewhere in the field of day school Israel education and in any Jewish communal effort to produce systemic and sustained change across multiple educational institutions.
