Canfei Nesharim is pleased to announce that its Executive Director, Evonne Marzouk, is the leader of a team which has been selected by the ROI Innovation Fund for a $50,000 grant which will enable the creation of an expansive new set of tools to empower the entire Jewish environmental community. Canfei Nesharim is the fiscal sponsor and implementing organization for this project.

For the fourth year, Canfei Nesharim is appreciating the importance of water through our annual Sukkot project, True Joy Through Water. Divrei Torah, program suggestions, stickers and Sukkah decorations are currently available on their website, and great more resources are coming soon.

Canfei Nesharim is accepting applications from synagogues to join their 2009-10 Synagogues Pilot, the second phase of the Synagogue Pilot, to run Torah-based environmental programs in their communities. The participating synagogues will carry out a full year-long series of programs on the environment related to themes in the Jewish year, designed by Canfei Nesharim and implemented in seven synagogues around the US during this year's first phase of the pilot.

Canfei Nesharim, a US-based non profit organization, founded in 2003, provides a Torah-based approach to the relationship between traditional Jewish sources and modern environmental issues. As a leader of a Torah-based environmental movement, Canfei Nesharim develops programs and materials for synagogues and schools in both the Orthodox and wider Jewish communities, and promotes from their rich website and mail list an ongoing dialogue about the Torah-mandated responsibility to protect the environment.
