Doctoral Concentration in Education and Jewish Studies at Stanford

Stanford University’s School of Education invites applications for a new doctoral concentration in Education and Jewish Studies. This unique interdisciplinary initiative is a special opportunity to create and enhance a nascent area of research that spans the social sciences, humanities, and education. We invite students who link theory and practice, who are methodologically and conceptually creative, and who are interested in contributing to the growing body of scholarship at the intersection of Education and Jewish Studies.

 

Potential students will apply to one of three existing areas in the School of Education at the same time they take coursework that allows them to “concentrate” in Education and Jewish Studies. These existing three areas in Stanford’s School of Education include: Curriculum and Teacher Education (CTE), Developmental and Psychological Sciences (DAPS); Social Sciences, Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Policy Studies (SHIPS) in education. Applicants can also select a cross-area specialization in learning sciences and technology design. All students admitted to the concentration in Education and Jewish Studies will be supported by an endowed fellowship that covers four-years of tuition and provides a generous monthly stipend.
