MOFET International Writing Competition for Students of Hebrew as an Additional Language on the Theme of "A Ray of Light in the Dark"
Every year before Chanukah, the International Forum for Hebrew Teachers organizes a Hebrew writing competition for Hebrew students on the subject of "Or - Light". This year, we decided to “shine our countenance” on a wider audience of Hebrew learners, also receiving works from students whose teachers are not members of the forum. In addition, the competition was held for the first time in cooperation with the Hebrew Writers' Association, and for the first time prizes were also awarded. The works were sent from around the world (including Israel), and the best were chosen by professional judges, members of the International Forum of Hebrew Teachers.

The Wellbeing of Learners and Teachers in Educational Institutions: Theoretical and Practical Aspects – A MOFET International Online Seminar
Education systems worldwide have accepted the fact that a clear, positive correlation exists between students' wellbeing and the quality of their learning, satisfaction, and academic achievements. In parallel, a positive correlation has been found between the wellbeing of educators in educational institutions and the quality of their teaching and their feeling of professional satisfaction. The theoretical and practical aspects associated with the bolstering and enhancement of the wellbeing of all partners in the educational institutions will be presented during MOFET International's online seminar: The Wellbeing of Learners and Teachers in Educational Institutions: Theoretical and Practical Aspects.

'Grandma's stories' is the theme this year for the TEC International Day to be held on March 22, 2017, where thousands of children, teachers, student teachers, leading scholars, renowned researchers and policy makers from different cultures locally and internationally will connect to discuss, present grandma's stories and interact together in protected online and virtual environments. Grandma's stories may have different interpretations. It may refer to her wisdom stories or that her tales are something from the past which is not valid today or it may refer to her healing recipes.

The MOFET International Leadership Seminar in Israel for Jewish educators and community leaders (July 3-12, 2017) will deal with issues and models of Jewish leadership throughout the history of the Jewish people, up to the present time, examining the participants' management and leadership styles and helping them promote community leadership in the roles they are currently performing or will perform in the future.

Again this year, the MOFET Institute's International Channel is offering activities in the field of Teaching Hebrew as an Additional Language to a variety of populations in Israel and around the world. In January 2017, we will be holding an international online seminar in Hebrew titled: 'Educating Learners of Hebrew according to their Characteristics and Needs: Tailoring Programs and Teaching methods to Various Populations of Hebrew learners'. The seminar will comprise four online sessions to be held on Mondays and Thursdays at 09:00 p.m. Israel time. The lecturers at the seminar are all experts in the field.

Exposing Young Children to Hebrew as a Second Language and to the Jewish Culture - A MOFET International Webinar
The number of children who are raised with two or more languages has increased worldwide. While Hebrew is the first language for many people living in Israel, it constitutes a second or a foreign language for Jews who live in the Diaspora. In this MOFET International webinar in Hebrew to be held on January 07, 2016 at 10 pm IST, Dr. Efrat Harel will focus on exposing young children to Hebrew as a second or third language, and will consist of three parts: (1) Theories of second-language acquisition among adults as compared to children will be introduced as the framework; (2) Authentic ways of teaching young children a second or a foreign language, focusing on the integration of games, will be discussed; and (3) The Hebrew language and some of the challenges that may be experienced by Hebrew teachers in the Diaspora will be examined.
