This research stems from the understanding that a mapping out of major trends in contemporary Israeli theory and philosophy of education will be of value to researchers of philosophy and multiculturalism in education. The research focuses on interviews with prominent theorists of education in Israeli academia and aims at identifying trends of thought in contemporary Israeli philosophy of education. The research results in a map of trends encompassing solutions for redirecting Israeli education amidst postmodern cultural and technological developments of the 21st century. The common denominators identified may serve as a basis for future collaborations among different cultural sectors in Israeli education and provide a lens through which to analyze and improve education in other multicultural societies.

We read with interest and considerable frustration the report by Kardos and Goldring on the first phase results of the CASJE study into effective educational leadership in Jewish day schools. This is an incredibly important area that requires, at this point, less research and more action. How will the knowledge derived from this study and a number of other studies of Jewish educational leadership, as well as hundreds of studies of educational leadership in general, reach these school leaders? Where will they go to find it? And why would most of them even look? They’re pretty busy already.

This study presents the experiences, feelings, and opinions regarding sex education, of 12 young religious-Zionist women who studied in the Israeli religious-Zionist school system and participated in bride-counseling lessons in the months and days prior to marriage.
