The annual Teva Seminar on Jewish Environmental Education is the premiere professional development opportunity for adults of all ages to explore Jewish environmental education, environmental sustainability, camping, gardening, or simply enjoying nature with others. The Seminar takes place at Surprise Lake Camp in Cold Spring, NY between June 12 – 15, 2012.
Four curricular tracks are offered at the seminar:
- Camp & Wilderness
Develop technical outdoor skills, enhance your ecological knowledge, and engage in practices to help you deepen your spiritual connection to Judaism and the natural world. - Eco-Arts & Community Education
Bring Jewish holidays, life cycles and agricultural cycles alive in your school or community through creative, hands-on Jewish environmental learning. - Organic Gardening & Farming Education facilitated by Jewish Farm School
Acquire the knowledge, skills and Judaic background you need to start a Jewish agricultural education program in your community. - Environmental Leadership & Organizing Public Narrative Training facilitated by Jewcology
Explore specific environmental issues facing our global community and Jewish responses to these issues, while honing your ability to speak about and organize action around them.
The 18th Annual Teva Seminar - Chai 18 will include the second annual Shabbat retreat in nature, June 15 – 17, 2012.
