The Holocaust Educational Foundation and Northwestern University are pleased to invite applications for Fellowships to participate in the fifteenth annual Summer Institute on the Holocaust and Jewish Civilization from June 19 to July 2, 2011 in Evanston, Illinois. This program is an intensive two-week course of study designed to broaden and deepen the background of current and prospective Holocaust educators. It is open to faculty at the college or university level and to graduate students who are planning on teaching Holocaust-related courses.

Join Hidden Sparks for the Spring 2011 Semester of Hidden Sparks Without Walls, an online audio conference accessible from home or school. The Hidden Sparks Without Walls initiative is designed to strengthen an educator's knowledge and practice in working with diverse learners. The program offers free short-term distance classes for teachers, educators and administrators in Jewish day schools and yeshivot, to give them the tools to enhance the ways in which children learn and behave. It also enables teachers across similar or diverse disciplines to share ideas, curricula, and talk about their practice.

Limmud Conference celebrates its 30th anniversary this week at the University of Warwick in Coventry. About 2,500 people from all walks of Jewish life and from across the world gathered between Sunday and Thursday, 24-30,2012 for the Limmud Event. Participants can choose from 1,200 sessions, including lectures, discussions, workshops, debates, drama and music performances, and text study. 23 sessions running right through the week will be broadcast online to share Limmud with learners from around the world.

Masa Israel Journey and the Jewish Education Service of North America (JESNA) today announced the launch of the Lainer-Masa Israel Fellowship, a two-year program for Jewish young adults interested in careers in Jewish education. This joint venture will engage North American Masa Israel undergraduate university participants while in Israel and place them in a second year internship upon returning to their campuses.

The World Ort Future Leaders Program is a nine-month leadership training program to develop a new generation of young leaders for Jewish communities in Europe and the FSU. An international selection of people aged between 15 and 16 years old, with potential to become leaders, will be chosen to participate in the heavily subsidized program. The deadline for completing applications is Tuesday January 4, 2011.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2011-2012 Museum Teacher Fellowship at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Each year up to 15 educators in grades 7 through 12 and community college faculty are designated as new Museum Teacher Fellows. These educators must show evidence of extensive knowledge of Holocaust history, successful teaching experience, and participation in community and professional organizations.

On the sixth day of Chanukah, the Israeli Association of Information Technologies in Education held a conference on 21st Century Skills – Miracles or Wonders. As the new National Plan for Making the Israel Education System Suitable for the 21st Century begins to roll out, a few hundred educators, administrators and educational technology experts gathered at the MOFET Institute in Tel Aviv to discuss ways of using technology to help students attain the skills they will need to live productively in the 21st century.

Moreh L’Morim is a 4-day summer institute, held between July 31, 2011 - August 3, 2011, devoted to Judaic and educational growth for Jewish educators. The conference is an opportunity to learn, network, explore, dialogue, create and engage with some of the best and brightest in the field of Jewish Education, Torah Study and Hebrew. Moreh L’Morim is held on the campus of Siegal College located in Beachwood, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland).

SuLaM is open to Jewish heads of school and other administrative leaders working at Jewish day schools who are looking for an opportunity to grow Judaically as professionals. The two-year program gives people the knowledge and skills to take ownership of the Jewish vision of their schools. SuLaM is fully funded, thanks to the generous support of the AVI CHAI Foundation. It is open to administrators working in any Jewish day school, including community and denominational schools.
