This series of free webinars is for all teachers and lecturers who have always wanted to connect with classes in other countries but it never actually worked out. This is your opportunity to learn how to collaborate with online partners, find partners for your topic area and age group and have a free social network to carry out your joint activities.
There will be 2 webinars in this series which will give you the tools to carry out successful sustainable online collaboration and give you insights on applications that can help with collaborative online learning.

The two presenters, one from Israel and one from Finland are both experienced online instructors and leaders of international projects.
Lecturers
Dr. Elaine Hoter is co-founder and Head of school projects at the TEC Center (The Center for Technology, Education and Cultural Diversity at the Mofet Institute, Israel). Previously, she headed the IT Department at Talpiot College of Education in Tel Aviv Israel. In 1995 she developed the first online course in Israel connecting pupils and student teachers in an online learning experience. Since then she has developed many different courses connecting different communities. She co-convened the first online conference for teacher educators in 2001. At present, she teachers at Ohalo college, Katzrin, MOFET International, and in the M.Ed. program at Shaanan College. She received her PhD from the Hebrew University Jerusalem.
Merja Karvinen has been a lecturer in the North Karelia College, Outokumpu since 2004. Her specialty lies in the field of broadcasting, media studies, media education and multicultural collaboration. She has managed several international projects as part her work in Outokumpu. Ms Karvinen has studied special education and career counselling in the University of Jyväskylä and in the University of Eastern Finland. She has participated in EU in-service training courses around Europe and in The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program in the USA.
