The National Middle East Language Resource Center (NMELRC) will offer its 2010 Seminar for College and K-12 Teachers of Hebrew on October 30-31, 2010, at the University of Denver.
The Seminar will be co-chaired by Shmuel Bolozky and Sari Havis; its main topic will be assessment in general, and its focus will be listening comprehension: developing listening comprehension clips, guidelines on how to determine the levels of such clips as assessment measures, and principles on how to measure students’ progress in listening proficiency.
Other presentations will offer some pedagogical solutions to issues of concern in the Hebrew classroom.
A limited number of stipends will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis to participants whose institutions cannot cover their hotel stay. Efforts to accommodate as many participants as possible will be made and early registration is encouraged.
Applications must be filed by October 1, 2010.
