The Brandeis University Teacher Leader Fellowship for Jewish day school teachers is a unique educational opportunity for exceptional educators at Jewish day schools who want to become effective teacher leaders without having to give up classroom teaching. Fellows will join talented and experienced teachers from a variety of school settings in a 13-month course of study (equivalent to the Advanced Graduate Study (AGS) in Teacher Leadership) that includes some elements designed exclusively for teachers in Jewish day schools.
The program prepares participants to create change in their schools by improving pedagogical practices and fostering a collaborative culture that leads to greater student and educator learning.
Fellows will participate in rigorous face-to-face coursework during two summer sessions at Brandeis, in-service coursework through distance learning during the school year, and continuous mentoring throughout the 13 months—a curriculum that allows them to study and practice essential leadership skills. As a capstone project, Fellows will complete a portfolio documenting their use of these emerging new competencies.
The Fellowship covers the costs of the Teacher Leadership Program (equivalent to the AGS in Teacher Leadership), including room and board at Brandeis for two summers.
You are eligible to apply if you:
