Sefaria is pleased to announce our partnership initiative for the 2015-2016 academic year. We plan to assemble a small cohort of innovative educators, representing six different institutions, who wish to optimize their use of technology to create a richer educational experience in the Jewish studies classroom.

Our partner educators will benefit from on-demand tech support from our team of engineers, as well as curricular assistance from our director of education. Sefaria is open to the possibility of building new features or adding texts to support ideas and enable educators to deepen their impact. These seminars are designed to help educators think more broadly and more creatively about what it means to harness the power of technology in the service of education. They will be facilitated by professionals who work as engineers, tech entrepreneurs, or in other related fields.

Each educator will also meet regularly (1 to 2 times per month) with Sefaria’s Director of Education. This will allow both parties to exchange ideas about curriculum and learning activities, offer feedback about Sefaria, and brainstorm what features or apps might be on the horizon.

Educators who wish to participate must be committed to using Sefaria in a sustained way throughout the year. This could mean using Sefaria in the classroom, for a teacher’s own preparation, to create source sheets, or in any other way that she or he chooses. We are particularly interested in projects that are replicable, as we intend to publish case studies detailing these experimental initiatives.
