Hebrew College’s Shoolman Graduate School of Jewish Education is now accepting applications for generous MJEd fellowships beginning this fall. The 36 credit MJEd can be completed entirely online or in conjunction with on-campus coursework. Fellows receive an annual financial-aid award of up to 65 percent. Recipients must complete 12 credits per year for three years, for a total of 36 credits. To qualify, submit your application by June 26, 2015.

Hundreds of teachers, supervisors and educational technology directors converged on the MOFET Institute in Tel Aviv on November 11, 2014 to participate in the third Global School Twinning Network Conference. They were joined by tens of Jewish educators from around the world who participated in the conference virtually via online broadcast from the Israel Ministry of Educations website.

Four skills have been identified as critical for the twenty-first century – Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication and Collaboration. The skills of creativity and critical thinking will equip students to deal with an ever-changing world. The skills of communication and collaboration both focus on the increasing need for interaction with others. This issue of the journal addresses challenges of twenty-first century learning. For many, when they hear of 21st century learning they immediately think of technology. That is understandable, but as Gary Hartstein writes in the opening article, the technology is nothing more than a tool – like a pencil or a whiteboard – and needs to be harnessed properly with educational thought to move education forward.

MOFET International is proud to announce the launching of its online international conference website, Ivrit B'Kavvanah T'Chila - Teaching Hebrew as an Additional Language to Diverse Populations in Israel and Around the World. The online conference, to be conducted in Hebrew (Ivrit), is scheduled for May 10-11, 2015. The conference will focus on teaching Hebrew as an additional language to diverse populations in Israel and around the world, and on the challenges facing teachers, teacher educators, researchers, educators, and policy makers in the field. Researchers, educators, teacher educators and administrators are invited to submit proposals for presentations.
