Read Hebrew America and Canada (RHA/C) is the National Jewish Outreach Program’s continent-wide Hebrew literacy campaign to win back the hearts of North American Jews. The Annual RHA/C will take place during the months of October and November! NJOP invites tens-of-thousands of Jewish adults into synagogues and Jewish centers throughout the United States and Canada to foster Jewish identity and create awareness about the importance of Hebrew literacy.
How does the program work?
Synagogues/Organizations participate in RHA/C by one or more of the following Hebrew courses:
Hebrew Reading Crash Course Level I
Hebrew Reading Crash Course Level II
One Day Review
Hebrew Writing Crash Course.
How are the Hebrew classes designed?
The Hebrew Reading Crash Course Level I and Level II are both run over a period of 5 weeks. Each of the five classes is an hour-and-a-half long and is held on the same day and time each week. The One Day Review and Hebrew Writing courses are one-day programs
What is the cost?
FREE! The National Jewish Outreach Program is proud to be able to present this program at no cost to the students or the synagogues/Jewish centers.
Whats new this year?
- Revised Student Primer: This year, participants will receive an updated and revised version of Reishith Binah, our acclaimed Hebrew reading text.
- “Twebrew School” Online Review Sessions: You’ll be able to invite participants to review what they’ve learned in class with”Twebrew School,” a fun, engaging series of YouTube videos andblog posts that help strengthen Hebrew letter recognition and understanding.
- Bonus Class: Participants will be invited to enroll online to access our brand new HRCC bonus class. They’ll learn over 100 Hebrew words and phrases that every Jew should know. This class is brought to life by connecting many of these key words and phrases to our Jewish Treats blog.
