The MOFET Institute and The Massuah Institute for Holocaust Studies are convening an international seminar on Teaching the Holocaust with Witness Testimonies in the 21st Century on June 16-17, 2015. The seminar will examine different approaches to teaching the Holocaust while integrating the voices of witnesses to the Holocaust through the use of methods adapted from various disciplines (history, cinema, arts, literature, etc.)
The opening session, open to the general public, will be held at The MOFET Institute on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 16:30.
The Massuah Institute for Holocaust Studies will host the session for twenty five invited educators and researchers from Israel and Europe on June 17, 2015. Representatives of teachers' colleges and universities from Israel and Europe will present educational initiatives based on Holocaust eyewitness testimony based on various curricular prisms.
Professor Stephen D. Smith, Executive Director of the USC Shoah Foundation–The Institute for Visual History and Education will address the guests.
