Following a successful year supporting 145 teachers in 34 schools across North America, The AVI CHAI Foundation is expanding its partnership with BetterLesson and will be offering more PersonalizedPD to support Jewish day school teachers to personalize student learning in their classrooms. Day schools throughout North America are invited to apply for up to 10 teachers to receive a year of 1:1 personalized coaching from blended learning experts, and incorporate new blended learning strategies into their practice to personalize student learning in their classroom.
While The AVI CHAI Foundation will cover the participation costs for these teachers, schools accepted to participate in this opportunity will be asked to cover the travel costs for their teachers to attend a two-day Design Studio. Teachers in Grades 1-12, across all subjects, are welcome to apply and participants must be available to attend the two-day Design Studio as well as the follow-up ongoing virtual coaching that will take place every two weeks. Please see below for additional details on this opportunity.
What is PersonalizedPD?
PersonalizedPD is 1:1 professional development that is tailored to meet a teacher’s specific needs. It begins with an in-person two-day “Design Studio,” during which teachers will choose an area of their current blended learning practice that they want to further develop, and will collaborate with their BetterLesson coaches to design a plan to implement new blended and personalized learning systems and strategies. Each Design Studio is followed by ongoing virtual coaching with a BetterLesson coach, including bi-weekly meetings and on-demand coach support, as teachers implement their designs throughout the 2017-18 academic year.
