The education department of the National Library of Israel is delighted to announce the launch of its new website. The website provides a large and diverse collection of primary sources from the collection of the National Library.
The site’s resources are specially chosen and adapted to the needs of teachers in Jewish schools and educational organisations around the the world and cover a large range of topics such as: Jewish and Israeli history, Hebrew, Jewish and Israeli culture, famous personalities, Jewish values, Shabbat and Jewish festivals and much much more. The site includes a large catalogue of primary sources, resource packs, lesson plans, worksheets and online activities and more resources are uploaded every day.
The resources are accompanied by suggestions and instructions for effective and inspirational ways to integrate them in education. The suggestions are based upon inquiry and constructivist methodology and strive to promote learning and research skills together with Jewish and Zionist knowledge and identity.
