The Matan Institute for Teens is a program designed to teach congregational school madrichim (teen assistants) about inclusion, and help them fill a critical role in the most effective way possible. Everything you need to implement The Matan Institute for Teens is contained in the curriculum itself, and can be implemented by an Education Director, teacher or lay leader. This curriculum is now available for purchase!

The curriculum is divided into 4 units:

  1. Introduction to the Role of Madrichim and Inclusive Thinking

  2. Differentiated Instruction

  3. Child Development/Remembering Who is in the Room

  4. Problem-Solving and Wrap-up

Each unit has 2 sessions. Each session should take approximately 45 minutes to complete, and follows the same format:

  1. Big Ideas

  2. Objectives

  3. Materials

  4. Accessibility Considerations

  5. Activities

While the curriculum is intended to be used in full over 8 sessions, facilitators can “pick and choose” units if they do not have enough training time set aside.
