On the 50th anniversary of the Six Day War, modern Israel is in search of its future. Looking forward requires us to re-engage with our past, to explore its meaning and consequences, and decide what we should embrace, what needs re-interpretation, and from what we should break free. #HartmanSummer 2017 will address some of the most significant challenges and questions facing modern Israel, reimagining the claims of our past, and imagining the possibilities for our future, through lectures, seminars, day trips, and special programs.

The Be'eri School for Teacher Education, established in partnership with Keren Karev in 2010, is today the largest and most intensive Tarbut Yisrael (Jewish heritage studies) teacher-training program in the country. The wide geographic reach, from the main Jerusalem campus to Be'er Sheva in the south and Karmiel in the north, the significant number of teachers trained annually, breadth of study required for certification, and the quality and depth of study have made the School a leader in strengthening pluralistic Jewish-Israeli education among educators in secular Israeli high schools.

The Shalom Hartman Institute’s 2015 Community Leadership Program Summer Retreat (CLP), which draws more than 100 Jewish community leaders from North America to the Institute's Jerusalem campus every summer, is scheduled to be held June 23-30, 2015. The theme for 2015 will be ' Justice and Righteousness: Personal Ethics and National Aspirations.' Join us for an unforgettable journey of study and discovery as we probe the Jewish tradition and question what it means to be a faith, a people, and a nation that aspires to bring justice and righteousness to the world.

The Hartman Rabbinic Torah Study Seminar is an annual 10-day study program that enriches rabbis of all denominations and nurtures their capacity to inspire their communities, excite them by the Jewish tradition, and motivate them in their quest for meaning. During the summer 2014 seminar, June 30-July 10, 2014, the faculty of the Shalom Hartman Institute will explore and teach Jewish ideas relating to the pressing contemporary issues of war and peace.
