The David Project, a non-profit Israel education organization which provides curricula and teacher training for over 100 high and middle day and community schools across North America, has opened registration for its Teacher Training Institute for educators interested in adopting one or more of its Israel curricula. The two tracks of the institute will be held in Boston, MA between July 16 and 19, 2012.

Applications are being accepted for an intensive three-week seminar on “Jewish Thought and the Good Society: Politics, Economics and the Human Person,” which will be held from June 25 - July 12, 2012 at Yale University in New Haven, CT. The seminar is designed to explore ideas of the most important classical and modern thinkers, Jewish and Western, on the subjects of authority, virtue, justice, freedom, membership, and a just and humane political economy. The program is open to current high school juniors, high school seniors, and recent graduates of Jewish day schools in North America.

This article examines the ways that, in Holocaust education in Jewish schools in Melbourne and New York at the beginning of the 21st century, knowledge of the Holocaust is transferred to students in chronological form. It begins by asking: What work do chronological narratives do within the Holocaust historical narratives offered within Jewish high school classrooms? In order to explore this question, examples from curricula and interviews with the teachers are explored.

High school students from around the world spend five weeks (July 1 - August 3, 2012) together, building their knowledge and friendships at Drisha Institute. Known as the Dr. Beth Samuels High School Program, it provides young women with an opportunity to immerse in the study of classical Jewish texts, including Tanakh, Talmud, Halakha and Philosophy. Students live together and engage in both academic and social activities throughout the month.

Mechon Hadar is opening its doors to high school students! In this new 6-week (June 24-August 4, 2012) program, a select group of high school students will join the larger Yeshivat Hadar beit midrash in creating passionate and meaningful Jewish community during the summer session. Over the course of six weeks, students will learn, sing, daven, and spend Shabbat together, experiencing a powerful example of a community living it.

Since its establishment in 2006, Jewish Spirit (Ruach Yehudit) has become Israel's largest and leading educational program in the field of Jewish identity. The central goal of the program is experiential learning of basic Jewish values through emphasis on the Zionist dimension and the relevance of Jewish values to modern society. The Jewish Spirit staff is comprised of young academics, trained in Jewish philosophy and culture, who work in full collaboration with the schools’ professional staff. The program is currently working in over 60 schools across the country.

During a week-long residency at the Yiddish Book Center on the campus of Hampshire College, eighteen high school juniors and seniors from across the country will study with some of the nation’s most respected literary scholars, meet prominent contemporary authors, and connect with other teens from across the country. The 2012 program runs from Sunday, July 29 through Sunday, August 5.
