The UJA Federation of New York is implementing an innovative plan: "Birthright Israel for Boomers" a tourism program aimed at adults that follow the outline of programs already in place for the younger generation. Next week the project's first group including people in their 50s and 60s, who will all be visiting Israel for the first time, is set to arrive in Israel. Many of the 34 participants have children who have visited Israel through similar programs.

This trip will cost approximately $5,000 per person double occupancy. It includes hotels; most meals; meetings with scholars, speakers, and guides; ground transportation; and security. Airfare is not included.

UJA-Federation has significantly funded Israel experiences for thousands of young adults through the Birthright Israel Foundation. This program allows adults to take part in a similar experience with UJA-Federation. It will allow Jewish adults to explore their Jewish identity, discover the dynamic side of Israel, and ensure that Israel is a part of their modern Jewish experience.
