A newly launched website containing profiles of each of the 30,000 registered non-profit organizations in Israel. GuideStar Israel is the main information website on non-profit organizations in Israel. It features official information regarding all NPOs in Israel out of the Registrar of NPOs databases, coupled with additional, richer and more 'colorful' information which is provided by the NPOs themselves. This combination creates the most comprehensive and qualitative database of civil social organizations in Israel and provides internet presence to all non-profit organizations operating in Israel – to the largest, most established ones as well as to thousands of smaller organizations which have, thus far, not been able to exploit this medium.

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, under the leadership of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, announced a donation of $1.1 million to the Jewish Agency for Israel to support the Heftziba network of Jewish day schools in the former Soviet Union. This comes in addition to the $400,000 in support to the school network given earlier this year by the Fellowship.

Haviv Rettig Gur writes in a Jerusalem Post exclusive: After spending tens of millions of dollars in recent years to bring college-age Jewish youth on subsidized trips to Israel, the government and Jewish Agency are launching a major new effort to offer similar funding for high-schoolers. In recent days, the Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Ministry and the Jewish Agency have offered $2m. to the Lapid organization, an umbrella body of 27 trip providers for high school-age kids, to start a pilot funding mechanism that will offer financial assistance to Diaspora youth applying to Israel programs.

The Avi Chai Foundation is offering a grant for start-up costs for schools that are introducing the TaL AM curriculum of Hebrew language and Jewish heritage into their programs or extending their use of TaL AM in the 2010-2011 school year. Masa Israel announces the launch of a new capacity-building initiative to encourage study abroad and academic exchange in Israel. The program will provides $50,000 grants to U.S. universities wishing to develop and execute academic partnerships with institutions of higher learning in Israel. The hope is that by offering these grants to American universities, it will encourage study abroad in Israel by increasing the number of programs available to students through their home institutions. These partnerships will offer students the full support of their home institutions by helping them more easily meet prerequisites and by facilitating a seamless transfer of credits for their studies in Israel to their home university.
