The David Project, a non-profit Israel education organization which provides curricula and teacher training for over 100 high and middle day and community schools across North America, has opened registration for its Teacher Training Institute for educators interested in adopting one or more of its Israel curricula. The two tracks of the institute will be held in Boston, MA between July 16 and 19, 2012.

Track 1 – Monday, July 16 - Wednesday July 18, 2012
Understanding the Arab-Israeli Conflict: Educating Ourselves, Educating Others:
This interactive curriculum for high schools, supported by the AVI CHAI Foundation, provides a platform for examining the complex issues associated with the modern Middle East and Arab-Israeli Conflict, while offering students and educators opportunities to engage in meaningful analysis and thoughtful discussion.

Track 2 – Wednesday, July 18 – Thursday, July 19, 2012
People, Place & Self: The Jewish Connection to Israel:
This curriculum serves as a platform for in-depth learning about the Jewish People’s historical connection to the Land and State of Israel, providing the framework for 8th through 12th grade students to develop and articulate their personal connections to Israel. Through student-centered, inquiry-based experiential learning, the students will explore and come to understand this multi-faceted history.

Participating educators will learn approaches and skills to use these curricular materials effectively in their classrooms while entering a lasting partnership with The David Project.

Early registration deadline: Friday, June 1, 2012
