The Israel Education Initiative (IEI)

The Israel Education Initiative of the Bureau of Jewish Education of San Francisco aims to make Israel an integral part of every Jewish educational program, so that all students are knowledgeable about Israeli history, culture and society, as well as have an enduring Jewish identity and a strong sense of Jewish Peoplehood. IEI offers consultations for educators, learning resources, an Israel engagement initiative in Jewish Day schools, engaging events, and seminars in Israel.

Hebrew Teachers Gather at The iCenter

On May 6, 2010 the iCenter hosted a training workshop for Public high school Hebrew teachers from around the US with representatives from cities across MA, OH, WI, CA, NY, IL, and MN. It was the first time ever that members of this subset of Jewish educators were brought together to create a community of practice, to share with each other their successes and their challenges, and to learn new and innovative ways to teach Hebrew to their students.

Birthright Bringing 21,000 to Israel

YBA High School in Israel Program for Overseas Students

Yeshivot Bnei Akiva has announced the launching of a low-cost, high-quality educational alternative to modern Orthodox day schools: a 3-year religious Zionist high school program in Israel for tenth through twelfth grade students from Diaspora communities. The program will be subsidized by the Ministry of Education Naale Program, and tuition will be approximately half of the average tuition for yeshiva high school education in the U.S., with scholarship assistance available for needy families.

The Economics of Edutainment: The Impact on the Year in Israel Programs
