A Better Stimulus Plan in Israel

In Search Of Israeliness

Israeliness, a new program sponsored by Dor Chadash USA and the 92nd Street Y, launched in September, is aimed at Israeli parents who are living in the Diaspora but want to give their children a Jewish and Israeli identity. Israeliness activities are geared for children from birth to age 6, usually revolving around Jewish holidays and other Jewish themes expressed in music, arts and crafts, storytelling and play.

Encountering the Other, Finding Oneself: The Taglit-Birthright Mifgash

Israel experience trips—and Taglit-Birthright Israel trips in particular— increasingly include a substantial mifgash—an “encounter” between the Diaspora Jewish visitors and Israeli peers. The aim of the present report is to improve understanding of the formal and informal components of the mifgash, as well as the significance of the experience for North American and Israeli participants.

After Birthright Israel: Finding and Seeking Young Adult Jewish Community
