Join the New Mandel Teacher Educator Institute Cohort 8
Authors: Morton Mandel Foundation, Joseph Jack
The Mandel Teacher Educator Institute (MTEI) is a program that strengthens the Jewish community by developing educational leaders – “teachers of teachers” – who are spearheading powerful and innovative professional development experiences for their institutions and communities. We believe that ongoing, substantive professional development for educational leaders and teachers is central to revitalizing Jewish education. MTEI’s intensive two-year program that consists of six, 4-day seminars with assignments in the field between meetings is a building block toward this goal.

The Wellbeing of Learners and Teachers in Educational Institutions: Theoretical and Practical Aspects – A MOFET International Online Seminar
Authors: MOFET International
Education systems worldwide have accepted the fact that a clear, positive correlation exists between students' wellbeing and the quality of their learning, satisfaction, and academic achievements. In parallel, a positive correlation has been found between the wellbeing of educators in educational institutions and the quality of their teaching and their feeling of professional satisfaction. The theoretical and practical aspects associated with the bolstering and enhancement of the wellbeing of all partners in the educational institutions will be presented during MOFET International's online seminar: The Wellbeing of Learners and Teachers in Educational Institutions: Theoretical and Practical Aspects.

Inclusion Assistants in General Education Settings - A Model for In-service Training
Authors: Moshe Anat
The inclusion assistant (IA) is a fairly new position in the education system and is the outcome of current ideological and legislative steps to include students with special needs into the general educational system. The IA's function is to personally accompany students with severe disabilities - autism, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental disorders - in the general class. This paper reviews the roles and characteristics of this challenging position and offers a model of an easy-to-implement, in-service, professional development program with minimal time demands that can serve to increase the IA's skills.

On the Importance of Professional Development for School Leaders
Authors: Kidron Yael, Tilove Adam
Continued professional development (CPD) is defined broadly as learning opportunities with well-defined sequence and learning objectives. These should be designed to enhance a leader’s professional competence, knowledge and skills. CPD may include multi-session programs, such as certificate programs and leadership institutes, as well as professional workshops. Effective continued professional development is linked to personal development goals and school improvement initiatives – it is not an end in itself but a means to instructional improvement.

Hillel International Launches New Initiative to Build Talent Pipeline for Jewish World
Authors: Hillel International
Hillel International recently announced an ambitious new project that seeks to strengthen the talent pipeline for Jewish organizations through new positions for recent college graduates on campuses across the country. The Springboard Fellowship will train cohorts of young Jewish professionals in highly-valued skillsets and place them at local Hillel campuses for two years. The Springboard Fellowship is a reimagining of the Steinhardt Jewish Campus Service Corps Fellowship, which Hillel ran from 1994 to 2008 and trained a generation of emerging Jewish communal leaders through their roles in Jewish student engagement. Seeking to build the next generation of Jewish professionals and equip them with broadly applicable skills, this new fellowship hopes to serve 500 fellows in its first five years. The Springboard Fellowship comes as part of Hillel International’s Drive to Excellence and its efforts to recruit and maintain top-level talent, essential to increasing Hillel’s levels of student engagement on college campuses

Kevah Teaching Fellowships
Authors: Kevah
As Jewish professionals, we are expected to be able to teach the Torah we’ve learned – but rarely are we trained to do it well. At Kevah, we have years of experience running adult learning groups nationally, and we have developed a unique model that sees the educator as not just a content expert, but as a skilled facilitator who helps to create a 'group chevruta.' Transform the way you teach Jewish texts at the Kevah Teaching Fellowship in June 2017 in Berkeley, CA.
