UCLA's Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for Israel Studies will host the 29th annual conference of the Association for Israel Studies at UCLA on June 24-26, 2013, the first time the international event will take place on the West Coast. The three-day conference, 'Israel in the International Arena: Scholarship, Imagery, Discourse and Public Policy,' brings together some 300 scholars from around the world — including the U.S., Israel, Canada, England, Italy, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Hungary and China — for more than 80 panels and roundtable discussions addressing topics in history, politics, law, economics, international relations, literature and art.

The Rothschild Foundation (Hanadiv) Europe, in conjunction with Paideia, the European Institute for Jewish Studies are sponsoring a seminar for European Jewish museum professionals who are in a position to impact the future of their institutions and to rethink the mission of Jewish museums in a changing environment. Participants will explore the current situation and challenges and together help develop new visions for European Jewish museums.

A group of 75 educators from the tri-state area gathered at Yavneh Academy in Paramus, NJ on Sunday, April 21, 2013 for the first annual JEdCamp in New Jersey. 'JEDCamp' is short for Jewish education Camp, an innovative 'unconference' where participants gather in a vendor free environment and 'create' workshops and then lead them.

The annual Teva Seminar on Jewish Environmental Education is the premiere professional development opportunity for adults of all ages to explore Jewish environmental education, environmental sustainability, camping, gardening, or simply enjoying nature with others. The Seminar takes place over four days at the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center in Falls Village, CT. on June 4 – 7, 2013.
