The Teva Seminar is the premier annual professional development opportunity in the field of JOFEE: Jewish Outdoor, Food, and Environmental Education. Now in its 20th year, this multi-day, hands-on training program is designed for educators, camp counselors, community leaders, and anyone who is seeking training in the emerging JOFEE field. Participation in the Teva Seminar will enhance the work of your community. Each workshop is accessible to people with all levels of experience in gardening, wilderness skills, culinary arts, and/or experiential Jewish education. JustCity Leadership Institute is an innovative precollege program in Jewish change leadership, brought to you by The Jewish Theological Seminary, AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps, Camp Ramah, and United Synagogue Youth. From Sunday, June 29, to Friday morning, July 11, 2014, you will build a network of peers who are also committed to learning change leadership skills, positive social change, and bringing their newfound skills home so they too can make a difference in their communities. Students will live together in the JTS residence halls in single-sex suites, and engage in Jewish text study with JTS faculty. Afternoons will be devoted to learning in the field, and evenings and weekends will be spent further exploring New York City.

The 'Jewish' at Camp: It's Leader Powered

Moving Forward,” the conference featured an impressive array of speakers and skill-builders inside and outside the camping world, and even an Israel night with David Broza. A myriad of attendee-suggested and peer-led “hot topic” sessions addressed issues from “Living Jewishly All Year” to “What’s Your Israel Connection?” to “Institutional Collaborations to Strengthen Staffing.”

Hundreds of Jewish Educators and School Leaders Convene at iJED 2014
